Vacation...All a moose ever wanted...

Life is stressful. Four days of fun and frolicking should help a bit. We all needed a break so we decided to take a little trip.

We drove and drove. It was great to watch the trees and ocean rushing by...wind in my antlers.

We pulled in to Astoria early in the evening. We walked around downtown and had seafood at a cafe. After all that driving we were a little tired.

We found a great motel right by the water. I've never stayed in a motel before!

What a great first day of vacation!

Saturday morning we went to Haystack Rock. Posted by Picasa

Look at us...Happy beach moose and fam... Posted by Picasa

I love the beach. It's so beautiful. I like to play in the sand. Making sand castles is hard without thumbs but I made do.

Little known fact: Moose are very good snow castle builders but not familiar with sand castle making. Posted by Picasa

Roadtrips are so much fun!! And on we go... Posted by Picasa

On Saturday we went to the Tillamook Cheese Factory to eat cheese and take the tour. I was very happy about this part of our trip. Posted by Picasa

Though the gift shop was a little scarey! All of those animals all shoved into barrels. Eeek! We moved on quickly to the tour. Posted by Picasa

The tour was so much fun! All that cheese was exciting!!

Little known fact:
Moose love cheese. In fact, somewhere in the Alaskan tundra there is a statue of a famous moose made of cheddar! Posted by Picasa

After the tour we ate yummy ice cream!

As the sky darkened we headed off to Portland. Posted by Picasa

On Sunday Morning we had breakfast and then did some gardening. Everyone seemed really excited about the new fountain. Posted by Picasa

Then we had to drive Erin to the train station...We had a hard time finding it. Posted by Picasa

After that we drove up to the Pittock Mansion. It was so pretty! I can't believe that there are people (and moose) that can afford to live that way!! Posted by Picasa

It was very pretty there. There was a flower garden and lots of trees to climb... Posted by Picasa

And we had a great view of the city of Portland! Posted by Picasa

After walking around a bit I was tired.

The rest of our weekend was spent laying about, eating good food and hanging out with the fam... Posted by Picasa

What a great vacation!
